Editorial Methodology.
This page describes how Ubarek Letters selects topics, evaluates nutritional claims, reviews content before publication, and maintains independence from commercial supplement interests. It is intended as a transparent account of the editorial standards the journal operates under.
Topic Selection
Topics published in Ubarek Letters are selected based on their relevance to the daily supplement and nutritional habits of active men in Indonesia, and on the availability of published nutritional research that the editorial team can meaningfully engage with.
Topics are not selected for commercial reasons, for affiliation with any supplement brand, or for search volume alone. The editorial calendar is determined by the editors based on observed patterns in men's supplementation habits, reader correspondence, and gaps in the available independent writing on the subject.
Topics related to the management of specific health conditions are outside the editorial scope of this publication. Ubarek Letters covers daily supplementation habits for active men in the general sense, not the independent or wellness-focused application of any nutrient. Articles that would require independent claims or specific health advice are not assigned.
Evaluating Nutritional Claims
All nutritional claims in Ubarek Letters articles are measured against the published nutritional research at the time of writing. The publication distinguishes between three categories of claim:
-
A
Evidence-supported claims
Claims where the published nutritional literature provides consistent support. These claims are written with appropriate confidence and with reference to the relevant research where possible.
-
B
Observed but not established claims
Claims that emerge from personal observation or anecdotal reporting without consistent published support. These are written in observational language and distinguished clearly from evidence-supported claims.
-
C
Claims outside editorial scope
Claims that would require independent evidence or specific health management guidance. These are not made by Ubarek Letters articles. Where a reader's question approaches this territory, the editorial team directs them to qualified wellness professionals.
Writers are asked to identify the published sources they intend to engage with at the proposal stage. The editorial team reviews these sources as part of the pre-publication review process.
The Review Process
Every article published by Ubarek Letters is reviewed by at least one editor other than the article's writer before publication. The review process checks for:
Nutritional claims are checked against the cited published research. Claims made without citation are either sourced or removed.
Language is reviewed to ensure it is measured, avoids commercial urgency, and does not overstate the role of supplementation in daily routines.
Articles are checked to confirm they remain within the journal's editorial scope and do not make claims outside the bounds of general daily supplementation.
The reviewing editor confirms that the writer has disclosed any commercial relationships relevant to the article's subject matter.
Articles that do not pass the review process are returned to the writer for revision before a second review is completed. Articles are not published until they meet the editorial standards above.
Commercial Independence
Ubarek Letters does not accept advertising from supplement brands at the article level. The publication does not accept sponsored content, affiliate arrangements, or product placement in editorial articles. Writers are required to disclose any existing commercial relationships with brands whose products or categories they are writing about.
Where the publication receives unsolicited product samples, the editorial team may choose to use them as one input into observation-based writing, but any such use is disclosed within the article. Product samples do not constitute endorsement, and the acceptance of a sample does not consistent approach coverage.
The editorial independence of Ubarek Letters is maintained through this policy. No commercial relationship influences the selection of topics, the evaluation of nutritional claims, or the editorial conclusions reached in any published article.
Corrections Policy
Factual errors in published articles are corrected promptly when identified. Corrections are noted publicly on the relevant article page with a brief explanation of the change made and the date of the correction. The original erroneous text is not retained.
Readers who identify a potential factual error in a published article are encouraged to contact the editorial team at [email protected] with the article title, the passage in question, and the relevant published nutritional source they believe should be referenced. The editorial team reviews all such submissions.
Differences of interpretive emphasis — where a piece presents one evidence-informed position among several plausible ones — are handled through editorial commentary, not through corrections. The corrections policy applies to factual inaccuracies, not to editorial framing.
Health Content Notice
Articles published on Ubarek Letters are editorial in nature. They reflect the writers’ observations on everyday supplementation habits and nutritional awareness for active men. They are not intended as professional advice, as guidance for the management of any specific condition, or as a substitute for consultation with a qualified health or wellness professional.
The journal does not provide personalised recommendations. Individual nutritional requirements vary, and the suitability of any supplement for any individual depends on factors that cannot be assessed through editorial writing. Readers with specific concerns about their health, nutritional status, or supplement routines are encouraged to consult a qualified professional.
